Henry's Smokehouse

We dined at Henry’s this evening and had an absolutely brilliant experience. The staff were genuinely lovely—friendly, attentive, and always happy to chat. They kept us updated on when our table would be ready and made sure we had everything we needed. They even went out of their way to accommodate a few menu changes, which we really appreciated. Every dish we ordered was perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. Although the wait was a little longer than usual, as it was busy for a Sunday, the food was so incredible that we didn’t mind at all. Thank you to all the staff for making our evening such a great one. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious meal and friendly helpful staff. All the meat was tender and tasty. And you could really taste the smoke flavour. The dessert was enough to share and was so nice. Reasonably priced for quality and quantity of food. If we’re back in the area we’d definitely visit again. It was very quiet when we visited which is a shame.

Tried Henry’s Smokehouse near Preston and honestly left a bit disappointed. The service was excellent — the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely — but sadly, the food didn’t live up to the hype. The brisket was the biggest letdown. It was labelled as “slow-cooked smoked brisket,” but what arrived was basically roast beef with a sprinkle of pepper. No bark, barely any smoke flavour, and dry enough to need chasing with a drink. It tasted more like something out of a Sunday carvery than a BBQ joint. The ribs weren’t much better — tender enough, but they had that unmistakable liquid smoke taste instead of genuine smoke. Flavour-wise, pretty flat. The one real win? The chips — perfectly crispy, golden, and well-seasoned. Whoever’s on fryer duty deserves a raise. Overall, amazing staff and quick service, but the food feels like it’s missing the heart of real BBQ. If they focused more on authentic smoking and less on shortcuts, it could be great — but right now, it’s all sizzle, no smoke.

Genuinely couldn't have been happier with our recent meal here. The first green flag was the friendly staff in front of house - all of the girls on shift made an effort to come and have a chat and keep us updated with everything - they were very busy with food service and dealing with difficult customers, but the food was 10000% worth the short wait. The mac n cheese with beef brisket is amazing and just as good reheated the next day - many people leaving were taking the leftovers from their mountainous portions home, as did I! No small portions here! The atmosphere was lovely with good music and friendly staff. I can't wait to come back - if they did delivery I don't think I'd ever cook again! 😂

Arrived to Henry's Smokehouse for a meal with my partner. Right from the start the waitresses were very attentive and making sure we had everything we needed. We each ordered the Brisket and the Burnt Ends to share ( the homemade BBQ sauce was so good) Had the beignets for dessert (again to share) and they arrived fresh and hot. Afterwards our main waitress (sorry I'm terrible at names) took us to see the smokers they use at the back of the venue, and the owner happily explained to use their uses and wood types. Their custom made smoker (Big Barry?) was very impressive and my partner and the owner spoke about cooking techniques. Very impressed with the customer service and delicious meat! We will definitely be back (and I will try and remember names!)

I'd just like to say what a lovely experience we had this afternoon. We booked a meal to have with our family as my lovely mum passed away on 18th December. Henry's didn't know this but they put us on a lovely table that we could all chat and share stories about my mum. The food was amazing and the staff were really attentive. I can't thank them enough and we will definitely be back.

This is our 2nd visit to Henry's Smokehouse and it was even better than the first visit. Our group opted for different things this time (last time we got the Famous sharing platter) so we tried more items from the menu. Everything was cooked or smoked to perfection. The Jacobs ladder and the baby back ribs were so tender that the bones came out clean. The burgers were delicious and well stacked. But the star of the show is the brisket. Absolutely a must-have. We are definitely going to be regulars here.

Booked for 2pm. On a Sunday 07/12/25 on our way to London. Took 20 minutes to get drinks (water and black currant & soda). 10 minutes after ordering, the server asked what we wanted with the black currant again. We ordered the mushrooms on texas toast and mixed meat platter and side of mac & cheese. Starter arrived stone cold in a cold grill pan on a plate 30 minutes after ordering. The server came back 40 minutes after we ordered and said they were out of sausage. Could they give us extra ribs. It is now 3pm and no sign of food yet. The server did come by and asked if they could give a free drink for compensation for the wait. I ordered a £6 Arnold Palmer (lemonade &sweet tea). The restaurant is very cold as well. No heating on in the dining room. Food got there at 3:07. Not worth the wait. It seems cumin is their favourite spice as it was in the cheeseburgers, the coleslaw, I thought I tasted it on the onion rings and wings as well. It's a beautiful restaurant and good music, but we won't be back.
