Velvet Ladieswear and Menswear Ramsbottom

Ja, vell, I vent into zis fine establishment on Vednesday, yah? I vas looking for ze Barbour Bedale coat, but ach, zey did not haff ze Bedale in stock. Nein problem! Instead, I browse around, and ohhh mein Gott, so many nice tings — jeans, boots, coats, shirts, ze whole shebang. In ze end, I fall in love viz a Barbour blue corduroy overshirt — wunderbar quality, looks sharp, feels great. But ze real highlight? Ze assistant. She vas Hungarian, yah, but spoke viz zis delightful accent zat made me chuckle like I vas vatching one of dose comedians pretending to be ze strict German dictator. She vas very helpful too — professional, friendly, but also hilarious. So ja, Velvet Menswear — very gut shop, full of excellent pieces. If you vant stylish menswear, zis is ze place. Five stars, yah!”

I visited Velvet on Saturday afternoon. I just wanted to say what a lovely experience I had. I was offered a brew, which was so nice and very unexpected, unfortunately I couldn’t take advantage as I had an appointment soon after my visit. I was shopping alone and wanted some advice about the jumpers I was trying on, so I asked another member of the staff who gave me her honest opinion, which was really refreshing, as I actually didn’t feel like she was just trying to sell me something. I had gone into the store to buy a jumper, but I ended up leaving with two and could have quite happily bought more. The young lady on the desk was also so friendly, chatty and helpful. The whole experience was just really lovely from start to finish. So I just wanted to thank all three ladies. You made my day a lot brighter. When I am back over from Oldham I will definitely call in again and hopefully have the time to take you up on that brew. Lovely shop with amazing friendly service. Thank you.

Superb selection of formal and casual clothes and shoes for men and women, both with a contemporary and sophisticated feel to all brands offered instore. Lovely friendly staff for a leisurely browse or a serious spend! 👌 when looking for wedding outfit recently, I found everything I needed for the complete look and what could have been an anxious morning turned into a very easy and informed decision ♥️

I always receive a lovely warm welcome at both shops in Ramsbottom! Had a fabulous time on Saturday in both shops and bought a number of items for my partner and he is really thrilled with them all. Bought more for myself at the other shop too and had nice time looking around and trying things on. Lovely chat with the ladies and had a good laugh. Beautiful clothing for men and women!

Great choice of clothes for all occasions. Lovely helpful staff. Nice ambience, was offered a cup of coffee. Lovely seating area. Got some really lovely clothes for my cruise but it's not cheap, beware.

I started to shop at Velvet about 4 years ago and I fell in love with the place. I was immediately made to feel comfortable - I tried lots of outfits on and always got honest feedback which I really appreciated - even if it meant I left empty handed. I love that they have a big range of clothing to suit different body types and to accommodate everyone's budgets. I'm a very big Joules fan, so when they decided to open a second shop with kids and menswear I was happy that I could get my husband and children's wear from a local business. Every time I went into Velvet I always thought to myself I would love to work there - it would be my ideal job! Then my thoughts became a reality and just over a year ago I got a job there. It's even better than I could of imagined, the staff are great and the customers are fabulous. It's like a big community family and I love being a part of it xxx

Fantastic shopping experience, thank you for all your patience whilst I tried on a few things. My husband loves the seating area and coffee and will happily visit again with me. It must be a good shop as I only went in for a hat and came out with a coat as there is so much choice in qualty brands. I love my new Seasalt Cornwall coat!

Such a beautiful bright shop to look in, absolute pleasure to shop and support local businesses. The team are all very helpful and excellent understanding of the clothes and brands. The team are always offering brews and friendly conversation making you feel at home. Absolutely lovely quality of clothes, I can always find what I need! - highly recommended shop!
