BBQ PIT

This place was recommended to me by a neighbour as we’d always used somewhere further away. That was a few years ago and we’ve been returning ever since. The quality of the food is exceptional. We always have large cod’s. The fish is always fresh, firm chunky flakes of delicious goodness in a crispy tasty batter with chips to match. Large cod is LARGE and the portion sizes are always good value. It’s run by a lovely couple who are always pleasant as are the girls that work for them. If they’re busy they’ve often given me a few chips to keep me going or kebab meat to try so I genuinely can’t fault the place and it will continue to be my go to chippy tea!

Some of the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. do not listen to the negative reviews there has been a HUGE misunderstanding. Honestly the quality of this fish & chips is unreal. if you think I am lying go and try it yourself , you will see. there is a group of people who have got into a disagreement with the Owners and it has led to the negative reviews being passed around but honestly speaking, I do not know them but one thing I can say is the quality of their food is top tier

I never normally leave reviews, however in this instance I feel I should for the sake of 'the staff' which I feel are unfortunate to work there. Just take some time to read the 'genuine' reviews on this page. You can see the number of people who have taken the time to leave negative comments and are amazed by how 'rude' the owner is. The food is nothing to write home about, there are far better chip shops in the local area in my opinion - avoid

***DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE *** The staff do not treat workers fairly and they refuse to pay them. They clean the equipment with fairy washing up liquid and allow it to spill on to the food. The owner is abusive and I witnessed her slap a member of the public before throwing crude remarks at her in a foreign language. Please avoid this place, clay lane fish bar is a great alternative.

Being aware of recent issues but not interested in what doesn't concern me I wasn't sure what to expect but our cod and chips was very good tonight, massive cod and good portion of chips, all cooked fresh. No complaint, just an observation but the chips needed bit more colour. Enjoyed em anyway. Thanks
